Spring Cleanup
Beds
- We blow-out the leaves and light debris.
- We remove garbage, twigs, and fallen branches.
- We do NOT avoid areas behind bushes and hard-to-reach places.
- We weed the beds, then treat with a weed preventor.
Edging
- We put a fresh edge on all the beds (approximately five inches deep).
- We do not use an mechanical edger: they produces a shallow edge, which quickly breaks down after a few rain storms.
- We edge with a pick shovel: it produces a deeper edge, which looks much more pleasing.
- A deeper edge contains mulch within the bed much better, and holds up under rough weather conditions.
- We always provide a straight line or the proper curve to the bed.
Mulching
- We spread double-processed mulch throughout all beds.
- We DON'T avoid areas behind bushes and hard-to-reach places.
Cleanup
- We dispose of all debris, including edgings, that we collected.
